National Day Parade 2010

I think all Parents love to bring their kids to the National Day Parade, as it is certainly a very patriotic experience. This year, ED Unloaded has been tasked to cover the National Day Parade (Thanks to Diana) and the build-up towards this historic event!

The First media event I got to cover were the fighter airplanes involved in this year’s aerial fly past.

In fact, this year for the very 1st time – Singapore’s F15G fighters will be making its debut in the parade. And at the Media Event….I will get to see these powerful F-15 Jets take off! 🙂

This is really exciting for the kid in me, as when I was young,  I grew up with Tamiya and Hasegawa scale models of fighter planes, warships and tanks….Watching the actual planes take off, at close proximity would be small dream come true for me…It will be like TOP GUN coming alive!….

As it was the F15’s debut participation, there were 2 busloads of photographers and reporters that made its way to the Paya Lebar Runway for the photo opportunity. ST Cameraman were in abundance, and my little camera looked like a small toy gun compared to the BIG Boys.

Nevertheless, I squeezed to the front, and took pictures of the F15’s rolling onto the runway.

The theme song for “TOP GUN” (Highway to the Danger Zone) was ringing in my head, as I saw these Battle-ready beauties taxi by.

It was truly an exhilarating experience watching the F-15 in action, and seeing it taxi by so close.

As the fighter plane took-off, I can only imagine the impact that it will make on the actual day.

I am definitely looking forward to the Parade on 9 August, and if you can get your hands on a pair of tickets – U have got to be there!
